Home again, Home again....

brrrrr
We are back home, from a long stay at our ski condo in Vermont, where we recently rang in the New Year.  And, boy was it cold up there!

Last year, my time in Vermont, was completely consumed with fixing our new place up.
This was fine with me, as I would rather be decorating than skiing anyway.  Below, are some shots I took of the place "Before".
                       my daughters' room

the main floor living room

two shots of the master bedroom

The place needed quite a bit of work, and I was a bit overwhelmed at first.  Since it's really a weekend place, that we would presumably only be using in the winter,  I wanted to take some risks (choices that I might not normally make in our regular abode).  Even though I was willing to embrace the ski/rustic/lodge theme that (almost) is mandatory for a ski house, I wanted to give it a different spin as well.  Luckily, I found some great ideas in a House Beautiful photo, of a Connecticut home, designed by  Healing Barsanti.

Once I spied that black and white Cole and Sons woods wallpaper, I knew I found my design inspiration.  First off, it reminded me of the view from our window {two top photos} and, I knew the strange ceiling shape in our bedroom would look great covered with this amazing paper.  Below are my "Afters"...

The house is still a work in progress...this year we hope to tackle the kitchen and finish my son's room.
But at least we got a lot accomplished, and I am glad to have more projects to keep me nice and warm INSIDE.

I love what you did!!! OMG I am so in love with the little white squirrel holding an acorn! I try not to ask too much of where people get things to respect their space, but if you have read my relationship with the squirrels, I would love to know if you remember where you got your little guy? Simply beautiful my friend. xo

Gorgeous job! Love the way you handled the master bedroom windows. I would never leave the condo. Especially since it's freezing cold Vermont. Yikes! (Those Chanel skis couldn't tempt me either!)

Your ski lodge looks amazing. It is such a massive transformation. I love it how all the wallpaper connects even though your walls go in different directions. It makes the room look seamless. Your style is very me. I love it. I think I will be back to look at this post a few more times.

Sue- Great tour! The black and white Cole and Sons woods wallpaper folds like a beautiful origami crane in the bedroom. It's really stunning!

Are you planning on keeping your knotty pine boards on the wall in your living room? I have the same boards in mine - but at a 45 degree angle!
