Calm, Cool and Collected

A rainy, washed out Sunday, had me
dreaming of sunshine and beach houses.
During this daydream,  I found myself perusing
the online portfolio of Hamptons based design firm,
Mabley Handler.
The colors of the beach and the
serene quality of these rooms
make for the perfect beach house.

The husband and wife design team of Mabley Handler,
have developed and designed numerous
beautiful homes in the Hamptons.
{Picking just one out of the extensive portfolio was challenging.}

What a perfect little cottage. I love the outside as much as the inside. Off to have a look at Mabley Handler. I hope you have some sun today!

Those lamps on the first picture are so unique, I am wondering if they picked a shade from a different lamp for those bases. Regardless, I love them. And I love your blog. Have an awesome week.

I want those shell pillows on the first bed!
You know me, I want a little more color around me, but these pics are a great example of that Hampton look. I'm not sure I would mind the colors if I actually had a beach house, but alas, I'm a city girl !

everyone needs a beach house in their lives...especially with summer around the corner. Am trying to think were I would want mine if I could only have one....hard to choose, Mexico? Hamptons? Italy? Spain? Maldives? ....I think the Maldives, if I am going for beach heaven, I might as well go large. Have a great week ahead.
..wait can I change my mind? The Hamptons sound divine.

My parents have a beach house in Barbados.
I visit during the months of June - September.
There's nothing more relaxing than waking up to the smell of the sea/shore. Ah, I adore your photographs. So dreamlike and yet so real. XX

That's a great take on the turquoise trend this year (first room) - that softer shade hasn't come out much. It has a lovely presence without screaming "Cancun!"

Thanks for the post on our work, and all of the wonderful comments! As it happens, the house you pulled out of our portfolio is actually our own home :) To answer some of your questions...

Shiny Pebble, La Dolfina: The lamps are from a store in Sag Harbor, NY called Beach Bungalow, and they came complete with those shades (which are actually a painted metal shade).

Amy, Sally@Divinedistractions - Those nautilus pillows are made by Dermond Peterson, and we got them from Fishers Home Furnishings (also in Sag Harbor).

Shari@LittleBlueDear - Thanks...That's why we do what we do!

Thanks again!
-Austin & Jennifer
