These remind me of the old Highlights magazine, and finding the "hidden" pictures! There's a visual balance to the X, making it very appealing.

love it! it turns out that i like the "x" factor!
for some reason ever since i was a kid i loved seeing grids, especially when i could see structures being built. it is nice to know what the support system is, how it works....kind of like seeing the skeleton of a building and furniture.

I am drawn to pieces with an X on them also, Not sure why but I am drawn to them. You gave us some great examples here. I am on the hunt for an X bench with chrome legs and white top. Something less than William Sonomas. I want two for the end of the bed on a bedroom I have helped create. Let me know if you find one in your looking!! Glad to see you on my post today. Love all of these! What an awesome post idea. The little dark orange stools are my favorite, I'm already mentally placing them in my bedroom!
I typically think this element is a bit too rustic- but there are some nice cleaned up versions here. Pretty!

The first thing I notice in an image is the "x". Not sure why but my eye is just drawn to them. This post was fantastic. I did a similar post early in my blog and some of the "x's were so obscure it was like a game of Where's Wally,lol.
