All of these look fabulous in these spaces, but I still don't care for rocking chairs for some reason.
I hope so, I have a rocking chair in the guest bedroom that needs a cushion upgrade!

Oh my! I have seen the rocking chair in pic #6 for a long time in antique malls, flea markets and estate sales and have just passed over them -- however that picture is making me look at them in a different way!!

Love the aesthetic, though somehow I don't find them comfy. The cane back chair (with the Arco lamp) is gorgeous and the one in the last pic is my favorite.
The black one with woven back...that's the kind we have. We were going to use it in the nursery but it needs some TLC and I would hate for it to break. So reptty. I am also a fan of the Eames rocker. xo

Awww makes me miss my rocker. I let my SIL borrow it, they broke it before I had even left that weekend.

Rocking Chairs have been my childhood obsession but we never had the right corner or enough space or one. Really like the wooden chair!!!

I've always loved rocking chairs - there's just something so homey about them! My grandmother used to have the best orange wooden one but it's long gone now...
my mom has that exact bentwood rocker. she has relegated it to the basement storage room. i think she either needs to give it to me(!) or bring it out of hiding!! xo
It is certainly not your imagination! I have been seeing a lot of these rocking around in many good inspirational homes. It just reminded me, maybe i need one to rock it too.
There really is something soothing about a rocking chair - maybe it brings us back to our childhood, or maybe just the soothing rocking squeak is has a calming effect.
I am still impressed with the simplicity of SJP's chair in her Hampton's home. Great post.

These are all beautiful! I love number two because it looks like a piece of art/sculpture by itself. It may need a cushion for comfortable rocking though:-).

We had one with a cane back and seat growing up and I now wonder what became of it. Everything seems to come back eventually, doesn't it?

Rocking chairs are great aren't they! I bought one for my friend when she had a baby but after it sat in my lounge for a month I didn't want to give it away haha. I love the mirror in the fourth pic down by the way!

Rock on! Every house needs a rocker. I like mine on the porch, mixed with a long view into the distance. I love gliders, swings, hammocks, and hanging wicker chairs from the 70's. I occasionally like one with a guitar.
These babes can rock on for ever in my book!
I have hung onto an old heirloom rocking chair that my grandmother had in her home as a young girl. It needs a little TLC but will look fab when restored.

I have noticed several rocking chairs when I have been out looking for furniture for the house. I have an old wicker one I bought at auction, and i drag it out side for the summer and then back into the dry for winter.

I have a rocker similar to the one in #6 from my grandma - it's a little worse for wear and I was thinking I need to paint it. I just need to figure out what room it wants to live in. I love rockers!!!
