Yes!! Agreed! And I would love the one in picture 2...very today, but also yesterday. So, like, omniscient? hehexoxo,CarrieTuesday! We made it!
The one in the 6th photo is pretty cool! xo
All of these look fabulous in these spaces, but I still don't care for rocking chairs for some reason.
I hope so, I have a rocking chair in the guest bedroom that needs a cushion upgrade!
beautiful and I think we had one like #6 in our house when I was growing up!
Oh my! I have seen the rocking chair in pic #6 for a long time in antique malls, flea markets and estate sales and have just passed over them -- however that picture is making me look at them in a different way!!
We used to have one....long time ago and I think I would love to get the vintage one now:)Kisses, sweetie and enjoy your day
Agreed! I am looking for two for my front porch :)<3
they are! I love a good rocker!
I love the one in the last image, very cool!
Yes, and I Love Love Love... My mother owns a few of these that I'm thinking of refinishing!
Seems like it, but I think the only ones I would do are the 2nd and last one.
Rocking chairs are my favorite, especially when they look as fab as theses!!!! xxNikki
I love a good rocking chair! Finally, fashion and comfort have intersected!
You are so right! They are like the trendy version of the occasional chair!!!
Oh they certainly are! These are great too. I've been wanting a rocking chair for like ever but couldn't find a style I liked and that would fit in my space until now. Thanks!
Love the aesthetic, though somehow I don't find them comfy. The cane back chair (with the Arco lamp) is gorgeous and the one in the last pic is my favorite.
The black one with woven back...that's the kind we have. We were going to use it in the nursery but it needs some TLC and I would hate for it to break. So reptty. I am also a fan of the Eames rocker. xo
such a fun rocking chair! mod and traditional is such a great combo. :)
Very true observation! I have been wanting an Eames rocker for so long and I really don't think it will ever go out of style.
Awww makes me miss my rocker. I let my SIL borrow it, they broke it before I had even left that weekend. I really like how they incorporated these rockers with amazingly chic furniture and decor!
Rocking Chairs have been my childhood obsession but we never had the right corner or enough space or one. Really like the wooden chair!!!
I love the one where the poster on the mantel has a rocking chair to match!
I've always loved rocking chairs - there's just something so homey about them! My grandmother used to have the best orange wooden one but it's long gone now...
my mom has that exact bentwood rocker. she has relegated it to the basement storage room. i think she either needs to give it to me(!) or bring it out of hiding!! xo
It is certainly not your imagination! I have been seeing a lot of these rocking around in many good inspirational homes. It just reminded me, maybe i need one to rock it too.
There really is something soothing about a rocking chair - maybe it brings us back to our childhood, or maybe just the soothing rocking squeak is has a calming effect.I am still impressed with the simplicity of SJP's chair in her Hampton's home. Great post.
The wooden rocker in the second photo is simply amazing! I now have it as my mission to try and hunt it down.
TWO of my friends purchased really cool modern rocking chairs lately!!
These are all beautiful! I love number two because it looks like a piece of art/sculpture by itself. It may need a cushion for comfortable rocking though:-).
Very fun! Something do soothing about the motion of back...and forth...back....and forth. xo E
I love it. I've got a rocking chair in storage that was passed down to me, maybe it's time for it to re-appear!
When I was little I remember we had a such a chair! But I really don't know what is happened with it!!Love these chairs and indeed you discover them on every magazine now!!xxGreetPS Thank you so much for stopping by today!
the wooden classic one is one of my faves together with the fab Eames!!
Ha! I hope so. We have one that was my great grandmothers.
Such a soothing piece of furniture...
We had one with a cane back and seat growing up and I now wonder what became of it. Everything seems to come back eventually, doesn't it?
Oh totally! I couldn't live without mine (which btw looks exactly like the one in the third pic from below) ...Perhaps I'll paint it black, that looks awfully chic! Xx
oooh yea. i am loving this round up doll face.....rocking chairs are rocking my world lately. xo
they definitely are!! i like them, wouldn't mind one!
Love a rocking chair -- vintage or not! Dying for a pair for my upstairs' porch.
Rocking chairs are great aren't they! I bought one for my friend when she had a baby but after it sat in my lounge for a month I didn't want to give it away haha. I love the mirror in the fourth pic down by the way!
I wish my mom had hung on to the one we had growing up... xx
I have one in my own "naughty corner" where I sit with my LARGE gin and contemplate. A must and cheaper than a shrink. xo
Love the simple aesthetic of them!
Susan - be sure to stop by when you have time - I have an award I'd like to give you. Very much deserved. =)
the 2nd and last one are rocking my world. pun fully intended.
I loooooooove the white one. So cool. It would be perfect in our teeny tiny nursery!
Rock on! Every house needs a rocker. I like mine on the porch, mixed with a long view into the distance. I love gliders, swings, hammocks, and hanging wicker chairs from the 70's. I occasionally like one with a guitar.
These babes can rock on for ever in my book!I have hung onto an old heirloom rocking chair that my grandmother had in her home as a young girl. It needs a little TLC but will look fab when restored.I love rocking chairs!xx C
I LOVE rocking chairs! I think that they can look old-fashioned and chic at the same time, which I love.xo Josiehttp://winksmilestyle.blogspot.com
Very cool... Where were these when I was doing my nursery? Just kidding, I have a really cool wicker one from Ikea.
I totally agree! And I am really glad I stumbled along your blog. I found a beautiful rocking chair in my Mom's attic and was wondering if I should dust it off! Now I think I just might. Jessica @ www.seatomyheart.com
surely the eames chair will outlive us all!
So pretty! What a lovely round up. This makes me think, isn't it nice to know that new moms who are looking for a rocking chair for a babies room can have some fab rather than the regular drab??Nancy
I have noticed several rocking chairs when I have been out looking for furniture for the house. I have an old wicker one I bought at auction, and i drag it out side for the summer and then back into the dry for winter.http://kathleenjackson.blogspot.com
Not at all, I've noticed it too. Keep these trends coming back!
The one in the beige bedroom is the best, love it.
I visit your blog first time. It is so nice and lovely. I like your idea of blog.http://wofgtg.blogspot.com/Thanks.
my parents have the one in image 6 and i have been eyeing it recently. great post!
Am completely loving the black one from the sköna hem spread. SO chic!!
I have a rocker similar to the one in #6 from my grandma - it's a little worse for wear and I was thinking I need to paint it. I just need to figure out what room it wants to live in. I love rockers!!!
Got something to share? Would love to hear it. I read every single comment:)
Verb (as if French):to primp or fluff up.I like to apply the word to all things style related.Everyone's life can use a little zhush...
