Loving The Look: Framed Wallpaper

Great idea for anyone afraid of
the "commitment" required of
wallpapering a whole room.

Fabulous idea for adding some punchy
personality to a space.

Amazing idea for a headboard!

Basically, any where I see it,
where ever you put it...

I really just love the look!

I love this idea! What a simple and affordable way to add some style to your home!

I love this idea. In my case, the fiance has a strict no wallpaper rule in the house. I think this is an awesome compromise!

I have a hand painted Chinese watercolor on paper in my living room. Its a tall narrow space between two french doors so the size works perfectly. I think the bedroom is brilliant. It adds the Architectural quality of paneling without the expense. Smart!

I like it! I want to do something like that for my closet since it's a smaller space I think it would look neat!

Hamptontoes said...

I've done this in this past (for others) and it is a fabulous look! You can even take it a step further and hang a piece of artwork or a framed photo on top of the framed wallpaper. I'm a huge fan of wallpaper regardless of how it's used!

I think its an amazing idea. There are some beautiful wallpapers out right now, and this is a great way to decorate with inexpensive art.

I absolutely adore this look and have not seen something like this before. The wheels are turning...I am thinking about where to do this in my place!

Super cool idea and great picutes you have found! Years ago I bought a house that had LOTS of ugly wallpaper that had to be removed. After all that scraping I swore I'd never have wallpaper on a wall again...but this post may have change my mind! ;o)

I LOVE the idea...have always been a fan! I am trying to "push" someone towards this currently. Some of the images are new to me...maybe this is just the help I need to convince...thanks!!!

This is such an awesome idea! Kind of like framing wrapping paper, but better! Reminds me of that episode of Full House when they framed the duck wall paper. Way random.

I love this look too and it's great if you fall in love with a really expensive paper but can't quite find the budget to use it on a big space. Plus it's an easier way to switch things up when you tire of a particular pattern :)

It's a GREAT idea! Love it.

Hi Sue!
I like the idea too!
As you say I am very afraid of wallpapers but love´em at the same time. Especially the ones with large prints and patterns.
Here at my place you´ll only find white walls though, and one single wallpaper with a zebra- pattern(in white)in my hallway. That´s it!
Now me too can ejoy wallpapers. Thank you for sharing!

I like this idea a lot; it's not as overpowering as a full wall. Now who's going to invent a large wallpapered frame with blank white canvas inside...?

Mary @ RoomPolish said...

agree 100%!!! So great for the dabbler-in-wallpaper. adding some extra zest to a room, what's not to love! Another lovely zhush post, thank you!

I LOOOOOVE the look too! It's also a GREAT option for people who rent because you can wallpaper think board and fix it to the wall without doing permanent damage. I've thought of trying it out many times, and still should!

I've always been a fan of framing wallpaper. It's such an inexpensive way to add art/framed piece to a space. I love all the yellows pops from those framed yellow pieces. You must be so excited to be getting your coffee table from DWR! xx

Love the look and the idea. I have been thinking of this for awhile now for my dining room. One big blank wall with windows and fireplace opposite. Need something to balance it out and I think this might be just the thing.

Style Maniac said...

Adding my compliments to the long list above ... especially loving the yellow wallpapers. I have a set of old apothecary cabinets in my office with large glass panels currently backed in wrapping paper. Been thinking about switching to a certain Designers Guild wallpaper ... thanks for the reminder!
