Dear Skinny Jeans

Dear Skinny Jeans,
We've had our fun...but I'm just not that into you.  I've found a new love.

I love that second pair... they make her legs seem so long! xo

oh yeah! I'm with you....I am loving the pictures. Just all so flattering. i'm bringing them back, with ya! xo

I usually wear J Brand flairs but on Friday I put on skinny jeans which I hadn't worn in ages, oh boy, they were torture, I think they are on death row now.

Helena - A Diary of Lovely said...

I like them but not sure if I can pull them out to be honest

A Flair for Vintage Decor said...

I have a pair of these flair-style jeans by seven-- love them...especially with my cowboy boots (which sounds so awful...but my cowboy boots are one of the best buys I have ever made...they really make an outfit and are so easy)...and I think a pointed toe boot looks great with these flair jeans! I still love my skinny jeans too...since I just have to pull on my riding boots...pull out a long shirt/sweater from my closet...and I am good to go! Take care, Caroline

Interior Design Musings said...

Skinny Jeans reply, "You're going to miss me when you wear those cowboy boots and want to tuck me in them!"
PS - I totally agree with you, but just could not resist this reply!

Tonia of Chic Modern Vintage said...

I have to agree with you although I have a couple of pairs. I still love my wide legs and boot cuts.

A Gift Wrapped Life said...

Oh good, I was never too crazy about the skinny ones. These are kind of retro to the 70's (not that you would know but I do!). Good week. XO

I am with you!! Loving the hippie look of the giant flares!!

Zhush,
I'm with you!

The flairs are so much more flattering (and comfortable!). For those of us who aren't 5'11 with endless legs, this is a much more forgiving look.

Annie Wilcox Designs said...

I have a new love with a Cabi jean, some home show order thing, the flaired ones are my most comfortable and flattering jeans. I get compliments that make my day quite often. Sometimes a compliment goes a long way! Love your blog by the way, I just got mine designed after a year in the blog world.

C'mon Zhush...don't be such a tease! What?...where?...I've been waiting for ever for these!

Is this the new trendy jean? Thank god. My thighs can't take another season of skinny pants.

Lynda @ Happenstance Home said...

This jean looks far more comfy! More my style though I like my skinny jeans with tall boots - that's really the only way I like them though. they are kind of hard to wear.

christine {bijouandboheme} said...

Love this- the second pair are especially divine.

Acanthus and Acorn said...

Me either! But I am also not nearly tall enough or thin enough to ever pull them off! Even my teennage daughter who is a litlle bitty size 4 hated them. She said she couldn't stand how it felt like her calves were being squeezed!

Chic 'n Cheap Living said...

Hehe, gotta find my flare jeans now too!

I totally agree!

Dear Zhush,

You've made me officially feel the need to buy some wide legs. Thank goodness it's cyber monday. Xo.

I am with you! I love my flared boot cut jeans... and wear them all the time!

xoxo Happy Holidays!

Kelly @ Much To Do With Nothing said...

These are so much more flattering. I've been wearing the flares all along. I tried a pair of the skinnys on once. Oh my...they didn't fit like they used to. Ha!

LOVE the first pair. I am not into skinny jeans either. Or is it my body is not into skinny jeans. Hum?
I hope that you have a wonderful day, Sue.

Oh.. I so agree.. I'm loving those images!!

I'll be honest- I wish I could wear skinny jeans just to show off my flats and boots. But these are a great consolation.

Love this look! And so fun with heels.

I'm so with you there. They are such high maintenance. I just want to be comfortable !

I'm so glad you're tackling this important issue today! :-) I loved my skinny jeans until by mid-day when they stretched out and made my butt look all weird.

I LOVE that last outfit. LOVE.

Love, love, love wider leg jeans - I'm so happy they are chic again! I haven't hopped on board with the skinny trend (mostly because I never found a pair that flattered in any way). I think I will have better luck with finding this style, so flattering!

Kat said...

I'm loving theses. I wore a pair like the third ones the other day, so comfortable...and I have legs again!

So well said, I think when your leg looks like a chicken leg from the KFC it is time to put the skinny jeans away. I have always worn a good old boot cut. Love the flairs also.Kathysue

I'm with you - so over the skinny jean (ha - not that I could ever pull it off) and I love a fuller leg. Figure flattering! More room for all the food I had over Thanksgiving!

lisaroyhandbags said...

Totally agree! Bootcut and flares look so much better on me - I'm just not tall and thin enough to make skinnies look flattering and not like tapered "mom" jeans! :)

Shannon said...

i still love my skinnies - especially during the winter when I live in boots & booties!

you are so lucky...at least you got to break up with your skinny jeans... what is the saying " it's better to have loved and lost".... sadly, I kept trying to lose enough weight to get into skinny jeans... never happened.
Have a pretty day!

Love the second pair. :) Sadly, I am too short to wear these lovelies!
