The Warmth of Wood

Organic, natural and rustic or refined, polished and sleek~ there's something about wood that instantly warms up a space.  Wood floors, exposed beams, hand made furniture and objects, these all add instant coziness and heart to any home.

I love warm wood tones with white - it makes the wood look almost sculptural, like art. I especially love the last photo of the bedroom with the dutch door.

I don't know that wood was ever out of vogue per se, but I'm glad to see it being recognized again for what it offers.
I've never been able to get past that huge python photograph in the first image, though -eeeek!

I love a little wood mixed in with everything. Definitely warms things up - something I could use a lot of this time of year. Have you stepped outside the morning? Brrrrrrrrrrrr...xoxo e

Very hard to pick a favourite here! Wood is the natural (pardon the pun) choice for decoration. It is so versatile!

It's hard to imagine a beautiful interior without a variety of wonderful wood tones and this round is no exception!

You are definitely on a "warming trend"! Love the painted stripe on the wood floor - an inspiration for my front hall, perhaps. Off to read your guest post...

I love all things natual in a home. I was copying each photo to send to my cousin who is redecorating and I realized I'll just forward her the post (duh!). She's going to love it, right up her alley.

the textures, the tones, the patterns, wood really is classic, never going "out" of style right? i think a space, every space needs the reminder of wood. of nature, of the outdoors. ;)
