Daughter's Bedroom Inspiration

I'm getting ready to finally make good on my promise to my oldest (eleven year old) daughter.  She's been asking me for months to turn her girlie "big girl" room into a more sophisticated stylish bedroom.  Since I'm not looking to redo the entire space, the hope is that with some thoughtful tweaks (for my tween), we can both decide on a few key purchases to upgrade the look of the room.  Today, I will go over these images with her, to see if we are at least on the same page.  Wish me luck!
In addition to these photos, I will be showing my daughter this post from Velvet and Linen.  The redo of Brooke's daughter's bedroom came out so beautiful.  And, we'll take a look at Holly's bedroom inspiration over at Things That Inspire as well.

  13. We're doing the same thing for my almost 9-year-old! We had to obliterate the pink. She wants blue and green, so the first and fourth photos are really what we're going for. I'll have to share these with her! We've already painted her room and got the bedding but the rest is a work in progress. You can check out the before and thoughts on in it here: http://myinteriorlife.blogspot.com/2010/12/freedom-of-choice.html

  15. These are all so beautiful! What a lucky girl to be able to have input on her room - sure beats the orange, rust and gold paisley carpet I had to live with as a kid (which only matched with those same solid colours) - I SO wanted a pink room!
