Since I was familiar with the Buck House store, in New York City, I decided to check out the web site. Aside from an amazing collection of furnishings and artwork, I stumbled upon these creative tableaus, under a section entitled "The Designer's Eye". Gazing at these lovely ensembles is like taking a crash course in arranging "picture perfect" vignettes. The relationship of the objects to each other, the varying heights, the sense of whimsy involved...it all seems to come together beautifully, creating "real life" still lifes!

getting an arrangement correct is part science and part intuition...and when done well, just gorgeous...as are these images..

Oh I like those last two very very much. That simple 3 drawer piece has fabulous handles and the pop of teal on the chairs, love.
The lilac bench, the blue on the chairs, and the lettered blocks are perfection! Thanks for sharing this resource. :-)

Lovin that lavender tufted bench! Maryanne xo
Beautiful images and love the styling. I just place things that I love and they just seem to work.
People ar always asking how to arrange a vignette on a chest, a coffee table,etc..and I believe there is no one "formula" but its the gathering of interesting and beautiful objects that mean something to you and finding an order for them to be placed..have found that when you love something, you end up doing the right thing and it just comes together....of course you need to play a bit, which is part of the fun. These above are beautiful examples and great ideas/inspirations!
Gorgeous with so much detailing! I am loving each of them.
I love that orange vase! So pretty.

Just gorgeous - I wish I were better at creating vignettes. It's a talent that my Mom has, but I didn't seem to get - lol!
Fantastic styling! It looks so perfect as if it took no effort but of course, that's never the case.
How fun! I've been to Buck House but not her website. Always looking for a little arranging inspiration.

Sue,
I always imagine you have a purple stool just like this in your home, probably at your vanity!

They are totally cool! I love doing little tableaus and DAvid Hicks type table scapes!
I've been meaning to visit the store the next time I'm in New York... and now, a visit is a must! Love the vignettes and pops of color - especially that purple stool!

Pretty vignettes to start the week!

wonderful items, glad to see some red. I try to put red in a painting if i can. A touch of red does it for me. I have been looking for red Jewerly and don't see much.

Love the purple tufted bench!
Yes definitely. What a feast for the eye. I love it when rooms are approached in a 'canvas like' manner.
Also think the walnut chairs (the tall ones with ladder backs) are wonderful!
