The Designer's Eye

Since I was familiar with the Buck House store, in New York City,  I decided to check out the web site.  Aside from an amazing collection of furnishings and artwork, I stumbled upon these creative tableaus, under a section entitled "The Designer's Eye".  Gazing at these lovely ensembles is like taking a crash course in arranging "picture perfect" vignettes.  The relationship of the objects to each other, the varying heights, the sense of whimsy involved...it all seems to come together beautifully, creating "real life" still lifes!

getting an arrangement correct is part science and part intuition...and when done well, just gorgeous...as are these images..

People ar always asking how to arrange a vignette on a chest, a coffee table,etc..and I believe there is no one "formula" but its the gathering of interesting and beautiful objects that mean something to you and finding an order for them to be placed..have found that when you love something, you end up doing the right thing and it just comes together....of course you need to play a bit, which is part of the fun. These above are beautiful examples and great ideas/inspirations!

Just gorgeous - I wish I were better at creating vignettes. It's a talent that my Mom has, but I didn't seem to get - lol!

Fantastic styling! It looks so perfect as if it took no effort but of course, that's never the case.

Sue,
I always imagine you have a purple stool just like this in your home, probably at your vanity!

wonderful items, glad to see some red. I try to put red in a painting if i can. A touch of red does it for me. I have been looking for red Jewerly and don't see much.

Yes definitely. What a feast for the eye. I love it when rooms are approached in a 'canvas like' manner.

Also think the walnut chairs (the tall ones with ladder backs) are wonderful!

P.S. Is tomorrow going to work for you re. the guest post?
