Yes, We Have No Bananas...

Yes, we have no bananas... apparently, Spring 2011 fashion took them all!  What do you think of this trend?  Fabulously fresh or over ripe and rotten?

I'll take my banana w/ peanut butter, in a smoothie or in my cereal. It's a no for me. First I've heard of this trend! xo

All I can say is that I prefer to eat my fruit and I agree with the Buzz about bowling shirts!

I do not even love to eat bananas....!Not for me.

That's bananas! (Har Har) Ok, that's crazy! Honestly those shirts belong on a greasy cruise ship lounge lizard and no one else.

I think I prefer my fruit on the table or even better in a frying pan with a little butter, brown sugar and rum!!

Oh not a fan at all. This is just weird and 80s to me

Hmmm...maybe my father-in-law could pull off the shirt-he loves tropical inspired things! (The earings look like the runts candy!)

It's all Mrs Prada's fault but unlike that other Italian resident, she's not infallible.

Bananas go brown pretty fast. I had a pair of dangly banana earrings in middle school. I wore them once and never again after getting laughed at! Maybe if I was a fashion designer I could pull it off and own the idea a little better :)

Not feeling the banana love - although I'm not a big banana fan as it is. Do like them in bread, though :-)

Nope, can't really feel the love on this one.

Are they crazy? Heck no! And now I have that song in my head.

A designer banana is still just a banana... It still looks ridiculous and makes you want to giggle. But hey, as long as they don't expect me to wear it... It's all in good fun :)

I blame Rachel Zoe for this - lol! Bananas seem to come and go, I'm remembering some shirts from Chloe back when Stella McCartney designed the line that had bananas on them. I'm not going to join in. I have enough bananas on my clothes courtesy of my 2 year old - of course these are smooshed and yucky - lol!

Ummmm, I think I'll stick with just eating bananas from now on.

Those little banana earring are too cute, especially if paired with a plain white tee and jeans. Plus they look like banana Runts (remember those candies?).

Chassity (Look Linger Love) said...

Hahaha. I actually laughed out loud. But I'm all for people stepping out and expressing themselves and being different.

you know what I think would totally go with that top outfit ? In a clashing sort of way, of course ! I don't know whether you've seen those shoes from Russell & Bromley with the jewels on the toe that look just the same patterns/colours as you have here. bananas indeed !!!!!!

lisaroyhandbags said...

I think it's totally bananas! It's funny but I couldn't seriously be seen in any of these! :)

I'm afraid I can't think of all of this without thinking of Carolyn saying...it's BANANAS!

I don't think I'll be sporting the fruit bowl look this Spring! :)

That street style photo makes those accessories look better than I ever imagined they could, but I still think it's a no for me. Although I do like Miuccia's skirt.

See now I say now that there's NO WAY I'd sport bananas hanging from my ears but watch, in about 6 months time when they are everywhere, I'll be all 'oh my god look at my banana earrings! aren't they excellent!?' Hmm. Fashion is so fickle.

Aubrey {All Things Bright and Beautiful} said...

Okay...the shoes I might be able to rock with something WAY more toned down...but the rest we will leave to the inhabitants of the zoo and the looney bin...(c:

Well, it reminds me personally a bit too much of Halloween ... when I dressed my twins and their cousin (of the same age) up as 3 monkeys, and the baby cousin as a banana! Hear no evil, see no evil, do no evil! ;-)

Ann said...

I love Miuccia Prada and I love the woven shoes. I would wear the fruity shoes if they were given to me, but the banana shirt and earrings gotta go!

Heather Taylor said...

Um, no. Not a fan of fruity clothing or accessories (though sometimes I'm ok with strawberries but that's only in the summertime).

No likey! Carmen Miranda at Halloween perhaps.....
