Pretty In Pink

With all the pink being shown for Spring 2011, doesn't Jackie Kennedy look so unbelievably current and yet classically chic at the same time?  I already know that I want to add more of this hue to my wardrobe, and now I find myself thinking about boat necks, pearls and even bows!  This photo, taken by Mark Shaw, is part of a series on 1stDibs.  It's amazing to look back at all the fashionable people he shot during his career, and see how well classic design holds up all these years later.

Jackie Kennedy looks gorgeous. Like a very glamorous film-star nowadays.

It's amazing how some looks become dated and other can stay so current. I'd love to know why.

Always classic, always elegant - Jackie tops my list of fashionable icons. Come to think of it, I have one of my mother's pink sheaths from the 60's that I should pull out this spring!

You know i love this! Jackie. In. Pink. Does it get any better? And, so fun to see pink over here today when I took a clear break from it at ppt.

I'm just amazed that you could have put Jackie in any era and she would have looked current, chic and oh so beautiful!

A lot of lovely fashion from you lately, my friend. You must be preparing your closet for Spring!

I would not mind an original photo of Jackie Kennedy. I does not get more US royal than that. And what incredible style she had.

A warm hug to you.

These photos are gorgeous! I was about to say that the Jackie one was my favorite until I took a second look at the very last photo. How can you beat that dreamy scene of being perched at the boat and feeling the ocean breeze as you go by?

Mark Shaw's work is amazing. I've featured some of his images on my blog (and that purple coat pic is in my post ideas file) and there's something so elegant, alluring and fresh and just a bit edgy about them--as though the models could walk right out of the photo, sit down with your for a cocktail and tell you some wild and witty tales.

Was there no one more elegant and fashionable than Jackie O? She is just sublime, decades later we are still looking toward her as a fashion inspiration! Gorgeous post!

I love how her pinkness pop off of that yellow sofa in the first image. That lipstick is spot-on, too!

Fabulous images and love Jackie Kennedy in that pink vintage (although obviously not vintage at the time) dress and simple pearls! Wish I could pull of pearls and pink so effortlessly, instead I pair my one set of pearls with t-shirts and jeans...to downplay the feminine quality!
