Wayuu Taya

Today I'm feeling so inspired by the bright and bold color combinations of these endearing Wayuu Taya bags.  Founded in 2002, by former Chanel model Patricia Velásquez, Wayuu Taya is a non-profit organization that produces fashionable and unique accessories in support of Latin American communities. Each hand-woven bag is made using traditional tribal techniques and takes 20 days to construct, with the proceeds going towards education for the indigenous Wayúu women and children.  Don't you love it when "feel good" and fabulous combine in fashion?

I love the bright colors--I'd totally bring this to the beach. The green and pink purse is my favorite!

So pretty!
Are they big bags, or little satchels?

Holy moly! I'm in love with these bags. When I lived in Ecuador, bags like these were a critical part of my wardrobe. It would be so awesome to bring it back into my rotation with one of these funky beauties. Plus, you've gotta love the charity element behind them!
