The Apple Of Sister's Eye
Last winter, while I was shopping at the New York City gift fair, for new additions to zhush.com, I also happened upon the charming art work of Sister Parish's daughter, Apple. These reproductions of Apple Parish's collages were hanging in the Sister Parish Design booth, and are even more compelling in person. I'm told that these are representative of the collage and decoupage work that Mrs. Parish and her daughter Apple have made famous. I love that Apple typically started with the frames first (usually old doors or antique windows) this just enhances the whimsical nature of these pieces even more.

What wonderful whimsical paintings!
This is an interesting post. It's not often that you get the opportunity to see another side of a well known designer / decorator that is so personal. I'd take one of each....k
I really like the 2nd one with the cows! But, I'm also smiling that years before Gwyneth came up with the name Apple, Sister Parrish had already been there/done that! :)
These are fantastic!

I like the style of this! A little different and a lot of Zhush.
WOW - these are stunning. Very different from what I'd usually be attracted to, but there's something so gorgeous and intriguing! I'm sold! xo
They are so fanciful. I especially love the frames, and its so interesting to know that they were often a starting point, and not an after thought...I think the elephants are my favorite!
I was so excited about the fabrics and accessories in Sister Parish's booth that I totally missed these lovelies... will have to pay closer attention at the fair in August. Thanks for sharing such creative whimsy!
xxoo
So charming!! And I'm with Jeanne - love that she started with the frames!
I love, love, love anything Sister Parish-related, and just learned something new. These are such unique pieces. I would have died to see them in person.

Those are so neat! What an interesting way of combining things. NICE! xoxo
I saw these too and loved them. I think that they are the perfect whimsical piece to an otherwise modern or traditional space. Will you be at the show this year?
