Hello my pretties, and Happy Halloween! Halloween has changed so much since I was a child, we used to just carve out a pumpkin and leave it on the front stoop. Nowadays, its seems like every other house in our area is decked out to the hilt in festive Halloween decor. I have to confess, when it comes to decorating for the Holidays, I usually just go with the bare essentials...and then only because of my children! But, some of the ideas I see are so fun and creative, it's hard not to get swept up in the "spirit". Do you decorate your home for Halloween? My front door is in the last image below...

I took the photo above on October 27th...but today, October 31, our front stoop looks more like Christmas! We have no power and and no school...it's like a Tim Burton movie around here.
Happy Holidays Halloween!

I figured you had no power!! This was a CRAZY storm. I took my daughter to look at a college in Maine and got stranded at a hotel in Massachusetts with no power on the way back!! Loving your Halloween inspiration - the silhouette on the steps is particularly clever and your house is (was) looking tastefully festive!! Hoping you get power back soon (perhaps you have a generator in the meantime) - it is just so incredibly inconvenient!!
ReplyDeleteOH MY! That is crazee snow!
ReplyDeleteHappy Haloweeeeeeen!!
wowo! snow! Hope it's melting quickly for you :) You have a really beautiful home.
ReplyDeletewhoa! no power, no school! what a contrast in just a couple of days and your entrance is dreamy, sigh...
ReplyDeletei love these images. the stairs with the woman's image are so cool and creepy at the same time. i don't do a lot of decorating either but i love everything about fall.
Hope the power is back on for you soon.
ReplyDeleteMy front porch is pretty similar to yours (snowless picture)at Halloween. I'm not that into decorating for. The less I put out the less I have to put away.
Omg i can't believe the snow!! Love the pictures.

OMG I can't believe how much snow you got! It was like a blizzard here but it all melted yesterday. Be careful out there tonight and happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteSue, that snow ya'll got iS CRAZY. I hope you can get out and trick or treat tonight. xoxo, Chassity
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. Trick or treating in the snow - I hadn't even thought of that before seeing your beautiful porch with my own eyes. This will surely be a Halloween you will remember!
ReplyDeleteOh my Sue you have had to Ugg up right quick here....gotta say that front porch of yours is awesome snow or not, hope you have a fireplace?
ReplyDeleteOh my! Hope all the ghosts and goblins in your neck of the woods are staying safe and warm. Your house looks gorgeous both with and without the snow.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween!
Sue,
ReplyDeleteI thought my neighbor captured the spirit of the week - a snowman with a pumpkin head!!!
The guys are behind me getting ready to rip the side of my house off, so I didn't go nearly all out as I normally do. Already thinking about next year when we will be put back together.
Silver lining - with it this cold...kids won't want to walk the streets too long, or so I'm hoping!! :)
xoxo E
Your front door is just awesome! In fact, your whole home is incredible. Very much like from a movie. Stay well in that massive storm!
ReplyDeleteLove your front door but so sorry about no power...hope you have lots of candy to see you through. Snow and no heat would be my biggest nightmare. Hope your power is back on ASAP!!
ReplyDeletePeople have such great ideas but we're so far out in the country nobody comes here so I don't decorate. We have two feet of snow but thankfully power, enjoy your day and I hope your power comes on soon!
ReplyDeleteOh my... I can't believe you have so much snow!! My daughter is already looking forward to Christmas, I'll have to show that to her. Love the stairwells. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteI have made "Platinum Pumpkins" and "Candy-City-Scapes" for a Hottie in Hollywood.
ReplyDeleteAnd, for my own front door, I have made tie-died pumpkins!... Japanese hand made, tie-dyed paper.
Come see, some.
Cheers! -Teri
Stay warm and Happy Halloween! Your house looks lovely! :)
ReplyDeleteI love all of these ideas!! Your front door looks fabulous--I think I can see a little orange peeking through that freak snow!! Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteSue, this is crazy!! I can not imagine having any snow, but on Halloween and that much!!?? Wow!! I am wondering when Fall will hit here in Calif. We are still having weather in the high 70s during the daytime. It does get a bit chilly in the morns and the eves so that is nice. Trick or Treating in the snow, I am sure you all will be talking about this one for years to come.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween! or Happy Oct-snow-ber!!
