Closet Envy Strikes Again

Like many, each new year finds me trying to get perfectly organized.  Which is why I love to see a beautiful closet "before and after".  Truth be told, when a closet looks this great, it fills me with both envy and... what is the opposite of envy? admiration? goodwill? I'm not sure.  I just know that one part of me hates the fact that my own closet will probably never look this good...but another part of me just loves to see a fab closet like this one (spotted over at the L.A. Times blog).  I obsess over each image in an effort to see what organizational tips I can apply to my own life and wardrobe.  It's the latter that keeps me coming back for more.  That, and the fact that I'm a hopeless fashion voyeur!

Ahhh gorgeous. I asked the fiance if we could convert the guest bedroom into my closet. He seemed interested until he realized that meant we'd have to get rid of the bed.

Closet envy, indeed. Sue, mine is so unorganized. And I keep adding, to editing. Must deal with it one of these days!

Total envy. If my clothes and shoes had that much space in between them, I would have so much less anxiety and stress. I need a bigger closet, with white shelves and lots of mirrors!

Seriously amazed that some people actually have this number of shoes, and pretty ones at that!! Enjoyed seeing this! Janell

You know I love organized closets, so this one has me doing cartwheels! I'm wondering though, this seems more like a room than a closet. If that space is the definition of closet I'm missing out! LOL. Oh, my love of shoes is fulfilled in this closet too!

Oh, who is the gal that owns that closet? I think she and I could be friends. I noticed we have some of the same shoes! I like her already.

This looks like a department store, not a closet! Wouldn't that be nice... sigh.

Love all the organization...but seriously? anyone would fold and hang scarves on dowels like that? I would go nuts! And then they slip off... Scarves ARE a problem, but all my lightweight, chiffony-type, and really any that are not nice silk, I put in a huge drawer! Easy to put away, rummage through to choose one, and no, the wrinkles don't show at all on those types. For what it's worth.......

Wow! This has to be one of my favorite closets ever. And I love the scarf storage. I can never figure out how to store mine- do I hang them, do I fold them, etc., etc. This is genius!

My resolution for 2012 was organization and these images are amazing. Not only do I want the order of the first image, but I'll take all the shoes too!!
