Getting Ready For NYIGF

Last year was the first time I ever attended the New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF).  Located in the ginormous Javitz Convention Center, I was blown away by the massive amount of booths and vendors.  Overwhelmed and unprepared, taking it all in proved to be futile.  Now that this year's gift show is only one week away, I'm attempting to get organized with a list of the vendors and booths I'm hoping to visit. I think my shop could use a little artwork to round off our selection of home decor, and topping off this list is Spicher and Co.  The artist/owner's home (shown here) was featured in Country Living, last year. It was the mermaid (above) and giant flowers in the master bedroom that really captured my attention.

I go to the furniture fair at Javits every year and you are right about it being huge. I think it's so funny to see that other people have gone to the same show but I missed everything they saw and vice versa.

You are very smart to have a plan going in. I'm looking forward to seeing what you find there.

Sue, I am a bit envious that you are going. I agree thought that adding in some art like those pictured above would be great for your shop! I adore the mermaid! Okay and the florals as well! :)

I've gone down for the show the past few years since we have a lot of furniture makers up here in NH. It's a wonderful show!

I have loved that first image since I first saw it! I always love looking at their work at the NYIGF. The mermaid options are amazing...wouldn't they look amazing in the Hamptons? They remind me of my childhood...I wanted to be a mermaid and have a dolphin pet! Can't wait to walk the show with you next week!

Love these and didn't know about this artist! Will look for their booth - I'll be trying to pack in the show in a day and a half. Maybe our paths will cross. It was last year on the train from DC to NY for the show that your husband was seated behind me talking about "The Zhush" at the exact time I was reading your blog. Such a small world!
