Pinteresting

Pinterest is such an amazing and useful tool.  The other day, a friend of mine, who's re-doing her powder room wallpaper, asked for my advice on where to start looking for ideas. Without hesitation, I told her to check out Pinterest. To my surprise, she never heard of this site.  It was so fun to show her the results of our "powder room wallpaper" search. Up came so many beautiful images, my friend was so impressed!  That's really my favorite way to use Pinterest, (aside from creating inspirational pinboards) I'd love to hear about some other new ways to utilize this addictive and creative site.

  1. I'm so addicted, it's almost a problem. Lately I've been using it a lot to find examples of how a Craigslist find can be used in a beautiful, upscale space. Sometimes it's hard to see the potential of something that's just got a semi-blurry picture in bad lighting; it helps to show someone a similar piece in an awesome room.

As an aside, I think I'm in love with the wallpapers in both the first and second powder rooms!

  5. I agree pintrest is a great place to find inspiration when you're planning to decorate a space. I can recall saving photos on my computer hardrive which resulted into a total disaster.

  8. I love Pinterest! The only problem for me is that they don't always show the original source. That's so annoying for bloggers! But other than that I absolutely adore it to no end. It's my new blogging google search haha.

  10. Pretty new to it, and just getting my feet wet but I think you seem its value when you type in say blue and white bathroom in google then type in the same thing on Pinterest..its amazing to see how it fine tunes the search and automatically has a bevy of beauties as opposed to having to sort through so many random things on google....I could see how it could get addicting!

  24. Pinterest is fun! Although I go in waves on it. I get obsessed then need a break and jump into it again. But I ALWAYS tag each photo I pin from a site with a clear description to make it easier for others to find. Let's all do that!

  25. I love your pins of the wall-paper. Pinterest never gets old does it? As a designer, I'm looking forward to what Pinterest does for the world of design, personally, I think it will spark a whole new wave of creativity....with so many visually assets, I think people will always want something new, that they haven't seen before...What better way to stimulate the economy?

  27. Yes it's amazing. I just wish my boards were as neat and organized as some pincers - another place that can make you feel inadequate. The only negative is that you sometimes see viral pins showing up in everyone's posts. ADORE that third shot.
