Maybe because it's cold and dreary here in New York...or maybe it's just something about those genteel manners and traditions, a fondness of monograms or even the charming drawls (I want to say y'all and mean it*) but I really love the south. What else could explain why I'm always pouring over magazines like Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles, where I found this amazing home. Warm and infused with great style that's clearly based on tradition...just like all my romantic notions of the south.

*but living in New York, I do get to say cool things like "Linsane" and "shmear", so there's that...

that kitchen is perfection!
ReplyDeleteThere certainly is charm from southerners and I find it sppealing. I have one more NY saying for you...forgetaboutit!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ! I try to limit my "ya'lls" but, sometimes it's hard.....
ReplyDeleteoh. my. This is breathtaking. I love the south, too. I thinks it's because everything, and (almost!) everyone is more gracious.
ReplyDeleteI say "ya'll" way too much! I love the spaciousness of most southern spaces, but NY has it's perks, too! ;)

ReplyDeleteWOW - what beautiful images... I live in the South (but grew up in the North) and yes, this is all true. I am dating a Southern Gentleman and he "yes, ma'am" and doesn't cuss or "any of those offensive acts"... it is a different world down here, y'all! Thanks for sharing... have a terrific Thursday
ReplyDeleteoh.my.goodness. LOVE it all! I must say, the south does it well :)
ReplyDeleteOne of my girlfriends went home to Alabama this week to visit family and she keeps texting me photos of beautiful houses and fantastic vintage treasures. Her home here in Seattle is the perfect example of how Southern sensibility and charm can thrive just about anywhere!
ReplyDeletePS- That kitchen! Perfect.
Gorgeous home I love the last image with matching fabric on the bench1

ReplyDeleteI guess I have the best of both world - saying "ya'll" b/c I just can't help it and "linsanity" b/c I'm now a New Yorker!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving Atlanta Homes and Garden too. Trying to keep the southern in my northern home....can be a bit of a challenge. So, always looking for inspiration!
