Door Details

I'd really love to zhush up a couple of the generic white paneled interior doors in our house.  One of them is the door to my husband's office and the other is the dining room door to the kitchen.  How great would a nail head tricked out door with a round porthole window be for the dining room?!  I've been all over the internet trying to come up with some ideas. These two examples (both via Martha Stewart) are not exactly what I had in mind, but they're both so clever and pretty that I decided to post them here.  Have you gotten fancy with any of the doors in your space?

  5. Love the nailhead idea. About the only creative thing I've done to inside doors is paint them black. The husband had slight heart palpitations....lol.

  6. I love the idea of a detailed door! I often forget about doors, but they really do set the tone for a room. Gorgeous options here.

  9. Doors are so important, and so often left alone. I think the idea for your dining room door is great! I love a really nicely done leaded glass door to for those specialty rooms! So funny, today I posted about entry doors; great minds think alike.

  15. Yes, I am currently in the "door obsession" mode. Just added moulding to our interior doors and can not decide on the color. I love the nail head trim door you posted. What a statement.
Here are some doors I picked up at an estate sale over 2 weeks ago and then I distressed/or gave them some patina.

  17. I've actually always wanted to do upholstered leather with railheads on my kitchen doors that lead to the front of the house. Think I'll wait til the kids move out for that one!
