New Beauty Buys

Every season bring it's own set of beauty, skin and hair challenges. For me, winter is always the hardest to manage. Between the outside freezing cold air and wind, then the forced dry indoor heat, my skin looks and feels withered and chapped by March. The tipping point was an extra arctic Vermont weekend a few weeks ago. Too cold to go out I decided to stay in and research some products to help heal my skin and basically up my whole beauty routine.

A few days later several boxes arrived - unfortunately not every product made the cut.  Above is a round up of the ones that did. For what it's worth, my skin is on the dry side, somewhat sensitive and I do still get the occasional break out in my T zone.

Beauty Balm: This all natural product is my new go to favorite. I use it around my eyes and lips and any place that's starting to look a little dry and red. After a recent cold it helped to heal some redness around my nose.

Eye Serum: Most eye products address dark circles and under eye bags, but I was looking to target my upper eye area. My goal is a brighter, more awake look...it's subtle but I think this serum works.

CC Cream: I wanted to step up my SPF coverage for a while. Before this I was using a tinted moisturizer with an SPF of only 20, but we're heading to Florida later this month and I wanted to have more coverage. I really like the look and feel of this cream foundation. I started using it and it's not heavy or greasy and looks nice and natural.

Rose Oil: I've gotten really into beauty oils in the past few years. This one's great if your hands and cuticles get sore and chapped. I rub a little into my hands at night and then even run some along the ends of my hair. I keep the bottle on my nightstand and love how the pretty scent has become part of my night time routine.

Tinted Lip Balm: This is sold as a hydrating lip plumper. It would be great if did really plump my lips, but I don't see it. I do love the very subtle pink color, the texture and the smell. It does a good job of hydrating and it's in a cute case that I can throw in my bag. When I'm out and about during the day (usually driving) I like lip products that I can easily apply without using my finger.
