Home Tour: Chic In Chicago

I stumbled upon the image above on Pinterest, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this amazing house. I tracked it down to Luxe Magazine, where I learned the architecture was done by Austin Depree and the interiors by Shelley Johnstone Paschke. The best part of all, was seeing the whole home tour. Not only did this loveliness revive my whole desire to paint our red brick house white (and how chic is that robin's egg trim color?!) but it's also reinforcing my need for a round kitchen table... a thought I recently shared on Instagram. My list of spring home decor projects is growing by the day.

  1. Gorgeous!
Our home was built after WWII and added onto in the '90s, covered with pink stucco typical around here. What I really dreamed of was an ancient French stone farmhouse. We found somebody who was tearing down an old stone stable and used the stones to make low walls, like in the top photo. It totally changed the feel of the place. And it wasn't hard or expensive to do.

  2. Do it Sue! Paint your brick white! There are several cape code style homes in my neighborhood with white painted brick. Huge transformation for not a lot of money!

  3. That white brick is stunning. It brings a European feel to the home. I doubt that you would regret it.

  4. Do you know where to purchase the parsons style white console table? Thank you!
