Do it! I bet it will be really liberating. And of course...show us the results. As one artist to another I hope your ventures are enriching :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous! Good for you, I can't wait to see some of your art. I love creating art! xxoo
ReplyDeleteBefore I started blogging, my creative outlet was painting - I have painted countless school auction projects, I have taken oil painting, abstract painting, and encaustic classes through the years. When my kids were young, it was all but impossible to paint at home, as I could not set up and keep the supplies out - and there really wasn't a space for the supplies.
ReplyDeleteIn the new house, there will be a dedicated space for art supplies and artistic endeavors - all of my kids like art (and one of them likes sewing and ceramics) - so, like you, I am hoping to get back into art!
Yes! I think we need to listen to that inner voice when it speaks.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your next masterpiece!! :)
What a talent to have! I wish you all the success this 2011 in pursuing this goal. Have a lovely start to the new year. :)
ReplyDeleteI wish you the best!! I think creating is such an awesome outlet, can't wait to see what 2011 brings! I totally envy you! I can't draw or paint to save my life!
ReplyDeleteYes! Yes! You should get back into painting. It's a skill and a talent that shouldn't go by the wayside; I paint as much as I can.
ReplyDeleteAs for me, I am totally inspired by travel for 2011. Not just jaunts to the mountains for a weekend, but real, authentic travel with only a guidebook and good common sense. I'm not sure I'll get there, but it's fun to dream!
Hope you'll share your work with us :)
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love all of these ladies! I cannot say enough about how much blogging has inspired me, I am a graphic designer, not a fine artist, but being surrounded by such creativity day after day in the blogosphere gets me going! Great post! XX!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you see and create!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so awesome that you featured all these bloggers! Such a fantastic post and I cannot wait to see your creations. You will do fabulous (as you do with all your endeavors!)
ReplyDeleteJUST DO IT!!! I think anything that feels unfinished is worth pursuing!
ReplyDeleteSue! You are the sweetest.... and if I had anything to do with you being inspired to pick up your brushes, then I am beyond flattered...
ReplyDeleteSo glad we "met" this year, and you are a friend I need to "meet in real life" in 2011!
xoxo hugs!
Laura
Go for it Sue! I'd love to see your creations and I think it's healthy to pursue what the heart desires! Looking forward to getting together in the new year!
ReplyDeleteOh you have too- I paint for fun but I am always so envious of people that can actually paint for real- a talent like that simply has to be expolored. Great post and I agree, blogland is endlessly inspiring. xo
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone here who has already posted - you clearly have the creative drive - you should most definitely pursue your passion - you will find it SO fulfilling!!
ReplyDeleteOh yes! Definitely break out those brushes, I would love to see what you do! Everyone needs a creative outlet I think. I'm determined to spend more time with my paints in the coming year...the day job takes up a lot of time and energy, but you have to make room for happiness! Good luck...let us know how it goes! XX
ReplyDeleteGood luck! I'm not surprised to hear about your (additional) creative side.
ReplyDeleteoh sue, i so admire anyone with the skill of painting. share with us this additional talent you possess! i loved seeing all the artist bloggers and their particular style.
ReplyDeletenew years day i am off to art school for two weeks to learn perspective and hopefully the ability to draw and paint. wish me luck, i am a miserable failure but keep trying!

I can't wait to see what you create, Sue ! Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteOh, I hear you! Being a wife, mom, lawyer, friend, daughter, sister has gotten in the way. I wanted to paint SO badly last year, and I got busy and the itch passed. My goal this year is to create some art for our walls. As for inspiration - you're the tops! Happy New Year and I hope 2011 is filled with health, happiness, prosperity, family and love. Thanks for all your kind words through the year.
ReplyDeleteGet busy! I took a painting class this past semester. It helped me so much with colors! I have painted before, but the education in color was so helpful.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy 2011.
Teresa

Yes, yes, yes! xo
ReplyDeleteYes, get back to painting! I've done a few paintings for my home. I find it so relaxing. Can't wait to see what you come up with! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI think you should definitely do it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous goal for 2011! Can't wait to see what you create. I was always jealous of people who could make their own art until I realized I don't have to be an expert to make mine! It was such an uplifting realization!
ReplyDeleteLovely post ;)
ReplyDeleteLove to hear your preggo backstory.
Hope you get back to the art, pronto. My parents lived for a year or so right near the 92 S Y. Memories...
Cheers and have a happy new year, Alcira

ReplyDeleteGo ahead!!! Am I right to say there will be a lot of purple and orange in your paintings?
ReplyDeleteps: First pic is BEAUTIFUL!
Do it Sue! Funny, we just found out my niece is preggers for the first time - she has to leave us mid-conversation to go throw up! So great that you are considering a re-visit to your artistic side!
ReplyDeletePick them up and go do it. Life is short-don't wait!! Have a Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteGo for it! My aim is to get more motivated with my art as well. Lets make 2011 a super-creative year!
ReplyDeleteI agree! I follow so many talented artists blogs. And I don't give enough time to my art, I will be trying to do that in 2011. Thanks for the inspiration!

I think I have too many things that inspire me and that's a problem. I need to focus my energy into one. That has proven to be awfully difficult so far...
ReplyDeleteThat's great that you are getting back into painting. You have such great taste, I can't wait to see what you create. Happy New year to you!
i really like the painting by Karena (evoking rothko's work). it reminds me the idea of a sunset on a portuguese sea :)
ReplyDeleteI completely hear you! I want to do the same thing and spend more time being creative. Go for it! I'm sure you'll be happier for it.
ReplyDeleteHave an Awesome 2011 sweetie!
xoxo
Pull out those brushes girl!
ReplyDeleteDear Sue. Thank you so much for this flattering mention. To be in the company of so many great artists is fantastic. Especially since quite a few of them are my friends.
ReplyDeleteI hope your own artworks will flow freely out of your paintbrush and that we get to share the journey here on the blog.
Big hugs and thank you again.
xx Charlotta
How in the world did I miss this post. I must be slipping.
ReplyDeleteWell - a fashionably late thank-you.
