Look + Listen

When people keep repeating
That you'll never fall in love
When everybody keeps retreating
But you can't seem to get enough
Let my love open the door
Let my love open the door
Let my love open the door
To your heart!

Late Summer Day's Daydream

Every year Summer seems to fly by faster and faster.
I adore Fall fashions, boots and sweaters...
toasty fires, apple picking and cider, but,
Fall seems to zoom by even faster than Summer,
leaving behind what feels like an endless dark Winter.

So even though I am drooling over all the fall fashions...

I'm also daydreaming about an endless Summer.

And, trying to savor each moment of sunshine.

And when those dark cold days of winter finally do get here,
I know I will be heading over to the online portfolio
for more gorgeous sunshine daydreams.

Summer Style Secrets: FROM THE RIGHT BANK

I'm thrilled to have Ally of FROM THE RIGHT BANK
here today, spilling her Summer Style Secrets!
I like sunshine as much as the next person but it's my skin's worst enemy so sunscreen is a must. I love MD's All-in-One Tinted Moisturizer Sunscreen because it has the most terrific matte finish.

Like a lot of people, I had always dismissed rosés as a cheap wine for people who don't know better. When I moved to France I learned just how wrong I had been. There are some great rosés on the market and in the warm summer months, I love it as an apertif or to take along on picnics. 2005 E. Guigal Tavel Rosé is a good one that you can find pretty easily in the U.S.

I went to an outdoor concert recently and they were selling frozen lemonade. It was so refreshing that it's all I can think about on hot and steamy days here in Hotlanta, which is to say everyday. I found a recipe for one here. Add a little shot of something and I think it would also make a lovely cocktail. (Apparently, I like drinking in the summer.)

TOMS Classic Canvas Slip-On's are super lightweight and oh-so comfortable. It's the perfect thing to throw on on days when you'll be running around a lot. Plus, for every pair sold, TOMS gives a child in need a new pair of shoes. I love that!

Thanks so much Ally,
I love TOMS too...
{and cocktails and wine!}

Recently, my friend was complaining about all of the
cheesy reality shows based out of New Jersey.
As a life long resident of the Garden State, she feels
New Jersey is getting a bad rap.
She is worried that the rest of country,
(if not the world) is getting the wrong impression
of her beloved home state.
This post is for my friend...

This lovely, Short Hills, New Jersey home, was designed by
Frank DelleDonne of Summit, New Jersey.
If you love this home as much as I do...
let me know!

Giveaway With Studio Eriksdotter

I love to feature talented artists here...
what better way to "zhush" up your life
than with beautiful art?
Which is why I'm so pleased to introduce the
lovely and brilliant Erica Eriksdotter
of Studio Eriksdotter.

Born and raised in Sweden, Erica Eriksdotter's gift
for painting surfaced early in life.
Inspired as a child by her grandfather's talent,
she started working with water colors and
sold her first painting at the age of 10!

Here are some examples of Erica's beautiful work:

“Painting has always been a
creative outlet for me, but lately it is more
than just painting,” she says.
"It is letting go of the fear and allowing
myself to trust my hands and my talent.
Each painting is more than just paint on a canvas,
it is a story and each layer forms
that story for the viewer to enjoy.”

Erica has also come up with a lovely line of stationery,
applying her gorgeous paintings to note cards.
Both Erica's paintings and her note cards can be purchased
online through her Etsy shop.

For a chance to win a set of these gorgeous cards,
please visit Erica's site here
and leave a comment about your favorite painting.
For an extra entry, head over to
her Facebook page and "like" her, here.

And, if you are going to be in the Pittsburgh
area later this week,
you can check out Erica's work in person!

This giveaway will be open all week, until midnight,
Sunday, August 29th.
A winner will be randomly drawn and announced on
Monday, August 30th.

Good Luck!
