The Art of Martha Ives

handstands at the shore

If you've ever viewed my complete profile, and read the "about me" section of this blog, then you already know that I come from a family of artists...my father, uncle, brother, grandmother and several cousins.  Up until now,  I've only hinted at some of their work, but that all changes today... Introducing, the art work of my cousin, Martha Ives.  I'm so proud of my cousin Martha's wide and varied talents, and her new website that features many of her lovely pieces.  Oh, and speaking of her site, it was designed by my talented brother, Steven!  Quite the gene pool, (quite intimidating too).

This is just a small sample of the type of art Martha creates.  For the full spectrum of Martha's talents, please visit The Art Of Martha Ives.

  4. Fabulous. I would love to say I come from a family of artists. Will go check out her new website. The first one, girls on the beach one, reminds me very much of a photo I took in Ireland back in the 80's :)

Love "handstands on the shore" - I have a photo of my girls in Nantucket that it reminds me of. Have often thought of having a painting done from a favorite photo, but how to find the artist? Hmmm ...

  31. Sue,
I agree with the Buzz...the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. It's in your gene pool to be so stylish and to have such a great eye! I'm off to check out your cousin's work. My husband and I decided (when we could finally afford originial pieces) to only buy originals that we both like and that have a great story. I also love meeting the artist. Hmmm...I'll have to check out your cousin's offerings!

  32. Wow I fell hard for the the first painting you featured, it looks so alive and really makes me wish for summer! Great gene pool indeed!
