Springy Steps

Have you started to think about spring fashions?  I'm getting an idea of what I want to purchase for spring and what I'll incorporate with my existing wardrobe.  I know one thing for certain...I need a pair of pointy toe flats!  As I bee-bop 'round the internet taking in all that spring fashion has to offer, I've noticed these striking flats seem to be almost every where and at every price point.  It's the one item that pops out as so fresh and new to me.  What's got you thinking spring style?

Obsession Du Jour: LoveObsessed

Looking to add a small touch of neon glam to my outfits, I recently fell head over heals for some of Tom Binns pieces.  However, the out-of-my-comfort-zone prices, were impossible for me to rationalize.  Given my fickle nature when it comes to fluro-fashion trends like this, I headed over to etsy to see if there were any affordable options of a similar style, and was blown away but what I found! LoveObsessed, a fairly new etsy shop had exactly what I was looking for, and at a fraction of the price...score!
this last one is now mine!

A Simple Affair

Carly of A Simple Affair, has a fun series, Style A-Z.   My assigned letter was Y, which was tricky at first, yup, but then I was like, yo, I got this...yeah.  Pop in, see what I mean...

Endless Shades Of Gray

Around town here (and on twitter) there's a lot of chatter about Fifty Shades Of Grey...having not read this book (yet) all I can think about when I hear the title, is the stunning country home known as Six Swans, designed by Steven Gambrel (of course).  Shades of gray indeed...

Sponsor Spotlight: Quality Bath

I feel so fortunate to have such amazing sponsors here.  One of my newest, Quality Bath, has me constantly distracted by my own sidebar with their outstanding wares.  Not just for bathrooms, although they do have a fabulous selection for all your bathroom decor needs...Quality Bath has some of the prettiest light and kitchen fixtures around.  Here are a few of my favorites...

I'm quite partial to both this faucet and this sink since these are exactly what I have (and love) in my own kitchen.  And, my latest kitchen obsession would have to be this hot water on tap fixture...instant tea and hot cocoa? Yes please! Kicking myself for not including this when we renovated.

And, just like the name, Quality Bath would lead to you to believe, they have loads of beautiful bath tubsThis one is just like the tub we installed in our Master Bath, and it's by far one of my favorite features in our home.  Check out Quality Bath...they also have a great clearance section, totally worth a look!

Random Chanel Item No. 113

Around here we had at least two week's worth of extra activities and obligations crammed into this short week.  Which is why this Friday, all I can think about is resting my tired head on a pillow.  Not very exciting stuff, but completely true!  Wishing you all a lazy + lovely weekend!

In Defense Of White Walls

My first apartment had all white walls. As did my second.  Like most rentals, paint colors came at a fee and wallpaper was pretty much discouraged. Confined to our plain white box, I dreamed of owning a house of my own one day and covering every surface with paint and prints.  Fast forward to today, and that's exactly what we did. So naturally, white walls are now calling my name!  Apparently, I now adore this look. When done right with a little imagination and colorful pops of furniture and accessories, plain white rooms can look very warm and inviting.  In particular, I love the look of black accents in this context. Doesn't this charming residence from Style At Home, make a very convincing case for painting (or leaving) your walls white?

Closet Swoon

What is it with me and closets? Peeking into stylish closets has become a weird obsession of mine. I keep meaning to get my own closet into tip top shape, but really, that's not half as fun as looking at all the neat and pretty ones out there.  I spotted this image on Pinterest, which then led me to the source of this fab walk-in...Jerome Davis Interiors, in collaboration with A Divine Closet.  I love the glamorous vibe going on here with the light fixture and the blinged out hardware, not to mention the glass paneled cabinets, which seem so practical and chic.

Lily Bunn Interiors

Am I the last person to know about Lily Bunn Interiors?  Yesterday, while procrastinating a number of mundane chores by catching up with my favorite blogs (in this case, A Full House) I came across the work of uber stylish Lily Bunn, a designer from New York City. Lily's stunning interiors can be found all throughout her equally charming blog, Lily's Notebook.  These images in particular, were shot by talented photographer, Emily Gilbert.  Between discovering Lily's blog and Emily's site last night, I literally got nothing accomplished.

Decorating Your House With Joy

Decorating your house with Joy is always such a great idea...both the emotion and of course the fabulous interior design work of Joy Triboult.  A lovely way to start the week off right. Happy Monday!

Random Chanel Item No. 112

My future's so bright, I gotta wear shades.  And, by future...I mean three day weekend! YES! Goodbye alarm clock, hullo down time...wishing you all (I mean y'all) a wonderful and relaxing one!

Southern Wannabe

Maybe because it's cold and dreary here in New York...or maybe it's just something about those genteel manners and traditions, a fondness of monograms or even the charming drawls (I want to say y'all and mean it*) but I really love the south.  What else could explain why I'm always pouring over magazines like Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles, where I found this amazing home.  Warm and infused with great style that's clearly based on tradition...just like all my romantic notions of the south.
*but living in New York, I do get to say cool things like "Linsane" and "shmear", so there's that...
