Stream Of Fashion Consciousness

From her starring role in Annie on Broadway
{which I happily saw as a child}
right up to Carrie Bradshaw...
I adore everything Sarah Jessica Parker does!
She is easily one of my favorite actresses.

However, truth be told..
I am more excited about her role
as the new president and chief creative officer
for the fashion line,  Halston Heritage,
than I am about tomorrow's
opening of Sex And The City 2.

I know I will see this movie,
{if for nothing else but the clothes}
But, I'll probably see it the same way I saw the first one...
from the comfort of my couch, next year on DVD.

tell me ...are you excited to see the movie?
{or, happy to wait like me?}

  2. Oh, how funny...I remember Carrie in Annie! She has certainly made a career for herself. I am sorta excited to see the new movie, but a part of me is afraid to have high expectations....I don't want to be disappointed!

    Ok I feel silly that I didn't know she'd done Annie...! She is a good example of someone who gets better with age, I think. I will definitely get the DVD, just to complete my collection, but I don't have to see it straight away... I didn't see the TV series until years later, my friends were horrified :-)

  10. Love this! Yes, a group of girlfriends and I are going to see the film tomorrow night. I usually don't go see a movie unless it gets stellar reviews but I could care less this time. A night out with the girls both in person and on film, great clothes, good laughs... I'm in!!

  11. Saw it on DVD and I loved it, for clothes and scenery alone. I do love her too.

  15. I really really want to see it in the theatre, but it is so hard to get all of "the girls" together...I wouldn't dare go the boy-*gasp*!

    I can't wait to see what she has in store for Halston Heritage, CAN'T WAIT!

  16. I'm very excited about both! I read an interview of Patricia Field & SJP - apparently there is a LOT of Halston that appears in the movie (gee, wonder why?!). The white dress that she is wearing in the previews is spectacular.

  19. I will probably be sittin' pretty on my sofa watching it on DVD! Otherwise, I will have to go sit in a movie theatre all by my lonesome...hubby will want nothing to do with it! Anyway, she is a great actress and I just love her hair! I would love for mine to just fall in wonderful waves like hers!

    Have fun if you go!

  23. I am excited to see it, but will be likely trying to avoid the crowds of scary people dressed up like Carrie and the girls!

  24. I saw the first one at our discount theater after it had been out for a while. Not sure I can wait that long, this time, as it really was a great escape and I can use that this time of year with all the hectic stuff surrounding the end of school! Although, maybe I'd be more relaxed if I did wait until things calm down. Hmmmm! xx P&H

  26. I don't always love what SJP wears but I thought she looked great at the premiere in that yellow Valentino, even if the look was a little "safe."

    I'm going to watch the movie tonight. I didn't *love* the first one, but I can't not watch it. My friends and I are going to dinner and then the movie tonight, should be fun.

    I think I'm going to wait it out and see the movie at home so I can pause it to get a better look of the clothes. In all honesty, I think I'm more excited to see what the girls wear on various red carpets!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'll probably wait a few weeks and check it out at the cheapie theater. I'm SO excited to see all the clothes, though! And SJP is so fab; I do love this post.

    lol...
    this was fun.
    i can't wait to see the movie. tell me if you see it first.

  39. You know, I never saw the first movie but I love the style. I don't like watching overtly sexual films (ahem Samantha) but, again, I love their style so I'll watch the edited episodes on TBS. And that is the coolest thing ever that you saw her as Annie. Amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yes!!For the same reason you want to see it. I have a feeling that Kaftans and Morrocon style is going to soar after this movie. Go figure. We are such a pliable society aren't we? I agree, Love, love SJP.Happy Wednesday, Kathysue

  41. I loved Square Pegs! And "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!" Wow, she's really run the gamut as far as looks go. I'm with you on waiting to see the movie. I really want to see it, but I'm not hyperventilating about it.

  44. Yes! I'm going to see the movie xo

    ReplyDelete
  45. Ditto on all counts! This is not a gotta see it on the big screen movie. She should be in fashion in some way and this will be interesting. Love the old pix!

  58. I'm really excited for the movie, but I definitely won't be in the first wave of girls going to the midnight showing. I hate being trampled.

    Also, I love that you threw in the picture of Matthew Broderick - I've adored him ever since I first saw Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

    ReplyDelete
  59. i was never really that into the show, but i like to see the pictures of the outfits :D
    i doubt i'll see the movie unless i happen to have a once-in-a-blue-moon (ever?) girls' night out!

  68. Love SJP! I'm excited for the new movie but I'm not sure I'll drag myself to the theatre to see it. Probably watch it on dvd as well.

  69. the last movie was just embarrassing, and the puns in the new trailer make me cringe. it's a shame, because the show started off so great and now it's just a cash grab.

    having said that, i saw sjp when i went to the letterman taping the other day and she is eloquent and sophisticated (and a lot prettier in person) i'll probably be curious and end up watching it on dvd too!
