So understand you! I just had a convo with the hubs and fam on Mother's day about LV luggage. He asked what's the point? What's the point? LV started as luggage, and look how incredible the vintage ones look on display?! For sure he will be shown this post!
Definitely a need! We did an upstairs/downstairs tour in one of the Newport mansions, and they had a whole room of LV luggage, including the huge wardrobes they took for their European vacations. Swoon-worthy!
Oh gosh these photos make me think I need one too :) I love how your posts put things in different perspectives; way cool darling! Have a great day gorgeous XOXO
My parents bought me a trunk when I was a teenager (obviously not a LV one!) I so wish I'd taken better care of it, it's all beaten up now and sits in my storage area in my basement.
No, no, no... NEED! See, I need them for my trunck collection which can NEVER be complete without some LV luggage. No? Well, a girl can dream! (Love the version in the plexiglas - so precious.) xx
ummm. the zhush is amazing. i love stumbling upon a whole world of lovely ladies with serious cases of design lust. i need all, or at least one of those trunks. i'm newish to the blog scene and i'd love it if you would browse around here: http://lachercheuse-accidentelles.blogspot.com/
The classic LV trunk. Short story...Years ago I took a weekend trip to the seaside coast of Cornwall (UK), anyway part of the fun of mini road trips for me is stopping at all the little antique and secondhand shops along the way. Well, I found a particularly old smelly one that had so much useless junk I wondered how it ever got any business. Just as I was about to leave I saw what appeared to be a trunk under piles and piles of tatty magazines. On closer inspection it was a vintage LV trunk in lovely vintage condition. The crazy old fella who owned the shop had been using it to house magazines and newspapers. I said I wanted it and he made a big deal out of having to find something else to stash his stuff so I offered him £30 (approx $50) on the spot and he took it. Since then I have been the proud owner of my very own classic LV trunk! Love Xx
"Want," "need," what's the difference? Louis trunks are alltime, absolute classics and a MUST on every girl's wishlist -- or shopping list! :) So glad you came over for it led me to your beautiful blog!!
You'd always have that wonderful homecoming traveller feeling. I haven't bought any leather suitcases or trunks because of boring practical considerations, but as a coffee-table surely I could have one of these: http://www.globe-trotterltd.com/main.html ?
I have recently went to an antique fair in the burbs of Chicago, they had many very reputable antique dealers and one had tons of LV trunks and goodies,, Oh i wanted to take them all with me :) Such a classic! Thanks for sharing beautiful images.
Oh, Vuitton! French god of suitcases and other lovely items to carry along. Hear my prayer... Let me find a wonderfully old dusty trunk in one of those old second hand places and nobody has any clue!!!!
I adore the idea of encasing a vintage trunk in a lucite box for a coffee table. It would be great in a smaller version for accent tables as well. Love it.
OMG!! I NEED an LV vintage trunk for a table:) My, my wouldn't it be nice to buy something like that and not have to worry about how much it costs? Like they say if you have to ask haw much, you can't afford it. I'll just have to dream about one or just keep coming back to this post to drool! Thanks for sharing such a marvelous post :) ~Gail
Yes the classic LV is always desirable. I was lucky enough to be able to buy a weekend bag and matching handbag some 15 years ago (in Rome). I still love them and find them getting more and more beautiful as time passes.
