YES! Sometimes it's all about the BALANCE and hitting the right notes with just the right pairs. Great photos, all! I would feel very balanced in any of those settings : ) What a great design thought for the day! xx Suzanne
ReplyDeleteI love symmetry in a room too ~ I think it has something to do with being a Libra, (they love balance, the sign is a scale ~ not that I am huge into astrology but this is dead on)! Love the boys bedroom with the Union Jack. xo
ReplyDeleteI agree! Symmetry makes me happy! I love two of everything...
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of symmetry in a room! And, I love that art in the 2nd photo!

ReplyDeleteIn this crazy, out of balance world we all need balance in our homes. I love ALL of these images. Great, great!
ReplyDeleteGiven that I'm one of a symmetrical pair, I've always loved the balance of two!
ReplyDeleteLove this. I must say my favourite picture is the bedroom in picture number three. It looks like the perfect guest room!

Symmetry indeed, dear Lady;-)
ReplyDeleteThat first image tickles my fancy.
It's so cozy and quaint with the flowers silently sitting there;-)
Love all these images and symmetrical they are. Have a great day.
ReplyDeletelovely, i really love the 9th picture!!
ReplyDeletetwo is better than one--I love symmetry!
ReplyDeleteI loved these! And then I read the musical quote and laughed! 90's flashback! :)
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of symmetry too. All of these rooms are so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt might be too traditional for some, but I love symmetry in design. The chairs in that first picture are divine, and they are PURPLE - even better!
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas here also. I`m in the midst of decorating a Carrie Bradshaw type apartment and symmetry is very important. My place is long like a bowling alley but unlike Carries apartment I have a rooftop deck.
ReplyDeleteyep, i'm with you! that first image is a killer. great collection zushie! jxxx
ReplyDeleteFabulous rooms! I love the second pic the most, but they are all stunning, as always! You and Cashon&Co. need to hook up and start an 80s cover band, she was quoting Will Smith's "Summertime" on Saturday! LOL!
ReplyDeleteGreat Z., now I'm gonna have that song stuck in my head all day. ;)
ReplyDeleteVery good chosen images! I always try to bring in symmetry in designing a room! It is very important to me!
ReplyDeleteGreat post!

Love it love it! Especially in kids rooms and living rooms! Unfortunately, I think all the builders in the O.C. had some aversion against symmetry and come up with crazy layouts for rooms. Maybe a hallway like th eone you posted will be in my future?

ReplyDeletei'm a symmetry person myself...don't know why, just always have been! i love it!

Totally agree! I have had that Elle Decor Manhattan living room photo in my inspiration folder for a couple years now! I love it, and always will! Thanks for your comments on our blog the other day! It's great to find you over here. :)
ReplyDeleteI am so into this! I love to have pairs of two's! Great post!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely not one to notice symmetry but maybe I should because these are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI have a love/hate relationship with symmetry! I think it always brings a feeling of calm to a space, but an asymmetrical organization if usually more interesting, which is very appealing too. Great pics and a useful post.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture selection as always! Tuesday morning eye candy for sure. xo
ReplyDeleteI am with you on this one. I always tend to do symetry in my rooms. It is a fine line to not make it look too contrived but it just feels right and balanced to me. I did a post a while ago on symetry and we used the same examples, I love it when like minded people find eachother, isn't blogland wonderful, Have a Happy Tuesday, kathysue
ReplyDeleteLOVE those purple ikat print chairs in the top photo. Perfect symmetry:)
ReplyDeleteThere is comfort in symmetry, but fun to mix it up sometimes too!
ReplyDeleteFantastic examples! And I want that painting in the second photo... a lot.
ReplyDeletei love the union jack between those two beds. you've got me thinking!

I love symmetry -- it suites my type-A personality.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am SO in love with those purple ikat chairs.
I am singing right now.... xx
ReplyDeletethose first two chairs are a home run.
ReplyDeleteI like a little symmetry mixed with a little asymmetry!
I'm all about symmetry. But I do think it works best when there is one element that is not repeated (like the lamp in the twin bed shot). Love it.
ReplyDeleteOMG I love that first room!
ReplyDeleteLOVE everything... But that second room's two tables are annoying me. I just want to push them together or buy them one table!
ReplyDeleteA room is nothing without symmetry (in my opinion) Love the first pic ;)
ReplyDeleteYay for symmetry! Love it. xx
ReplyDeleteI love symmetry too - it seems to bring order to my disorderly? mind...
ReplyDeleteAnd do I spy a bottle of Jo Malone on that side table in the first pic? How wonderful: "Yes,I think I SHALL have a seat and a spritz, thank you!" :)
Wow so much eye candy here!
ReplyDeleteI too am a 'symmetry girl' - it doesn't always have to be as structured as this but I love it when a room is well balanced. So restful for the eyes.
Am in love with the little table in no 1. and the wall of bird art in the last pic. Gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteThose purple chairs are gorgeous! Balance is always good in a room. :)
ReplyDeletereally great- balance is so important-
ReplyDeleteI really love the purple chairs in the first photo- such a great color and the yellow seats are too cute- I am looking for something to 'spray' that color- it is my favorite.
OK, I've decided, I'll take the one with the columns & view of the water. xx's
ReplyDeleteI need the purple chairs. That is all :)
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS! xo
