I even remember where and when I bought my first piece, years ago on our honeymoon in Hawaii. I wanted a little memento of our beautiful hotel room and picked up a very small round lidded box at the hotel's gift shop. Shortly after, I remember acquiring a few more pieces for our first apartment in New York City at The Bombay Company Store. I thought it made our place look quite sophisticated. I still have these pieces today.
These days I find myself mostly searching Etsy for ginger and temple jars to add to my collection. I pride myself on never paying a lot for these items. That's part of the appeal of these pieces; it's not always so easy to differentiate a bargain from a high-end antique. Other great sources of late have been One Kings Lane and William Sonoma Home, I've even gotten a few favorite finds from Amazon.
Going over the images that Nicole Cohen took of our home, I got a kick out of spotting all of the blue and white porcelain I've amassed through the years.

My girlfriend and I joke that our husbands are about to stage an intervention and send us off to blue and white reform school, but truly you can never have too much. It was my Grandmother who had a love for Chinoiserie who started my obsession. I like to think of her with every new piece that finds it's way home with me! XO
