Our Blue and White Bathroom: Before and After

I recently came across the "before" images of our blue and white bathroom (below) and realized I never did a full post about this bathroom.  Along with the help of Muse Interiors, I was able to transform this dark and brown full bath to the fresh and fun blue and white bathroom it is today.

As you can see, we demolished the brown tiles on the wall and floors and changed up he counter top as well.  We kept the vanity base and had a professional paint it Benjamin Moore Dove White in satin impergo. We added a new mirror and light fixture. There was an extra counter area in the corner that we removed as well.

The brown tiled wall section was replaced with white painted (same color as above) wood wainscoting to break up the bold pattern on these very large walls. Because I had my heart set on a large scale blue and white print on the walls, Lauren Muse helped me choose a simple penny round tile for the floors in navy,.We continued this look into the shower and then complimented the navy rounds with white penny round tiles on the shower walls.

In order to let the beautiful wallpaper take center stage here, I chose simple white plantation shutters and they look perfect in this room.

The wallpaper is a custom color that I saw in the Quadrille showroom in New York on a fabric sample. I'm thrilled with the way this all turned out. Subsequent to the photo above (taken by Nicole Cohen) we ended up changing the original faucet to a much shorter one, as it was bumping into the wainscot panel edge. That update is over on Instagram today:)

I think I covered everything here, but if you have any questions I'm more than happy to answer them in the comments or over on Instagram.

Your blue and white bathroom is absolutely spectacular! May I ask what kind of ballpark budget this level of remodeling cost?

  9. Sue,
Insane difference! Of course, I love the bathroom, but I seriously appreciate it seeing the "before". And, I had to smile when I saw the framed Villibrequins that were one of the things that made Jen and Emily introduce us all those years ago!

    Excited to see you soon!
    xoxo Elizabeth
