Minor Obsessions

I had every intention on focusing on my daughter's room redo today, but after Wednesday's post on fall fashion, it seems I've let the sartorial horse out of the gate, and now I can't seem to focus on anything else. Blame it on the fact that last season I waited too long before shopping, only to have almost everything on my mental wish list sell out in my size. I don't know if it's because stores are carrying less these days, but I've decided to up my game just a bit and not actually wait for the actual season this time around.

At the top of said list, are some chic new tops. I love the colors on this cashmere sweater by Joseph, and I'm pretty sure the strategic design will be flattering for all.  Also flattering are V-necks...they make your neck and torso longer, and who wouldn't want that?  When they come in black silk crepe de chine like this one by Theory, it's a no brainer (the 3/4 sleeves here add length to arms and let you show off cute bracelets) The same flattering look can of course be accomplished with a silk button down, undo a couple of buttons, roll up those sleeves and voila! With that thought, this chic camo silk blouse by Equipment, needs to be mine as well.

A friend of mine recently tipped me off that ASOS has great belts for less than $15.00 each! This studded one and this classic black one need to be mine.  I recently acquired these classic RayBan Clubmasters, I love them but my kids are not so sure...oh well.

I own a black belted shawl collar cardigan, but mine is really well loved, full of pills and looking more like a bathrobe at this point, so I was thrilled to find the Gwen cardigan by Tory Burch. I know I'll be turning to this piece again and again once the temps start to dip.  Coated jeans were big last season, I even own a cute pair in burgundy, but the new cut on these black Current/Elliot ones are so appealing, I might need another pair...

I got into the smoking slipper trend last year with a pair of black velvet ones, and now I find myself drawn to some of the wilder prints out there, these animal print slippers would punch up any plain jane outfit in my closet.  Also lending some flair are these crazy gold rings by Lanvin...no doubt we'll be seeing a lot of knock off looks on this trend this fall. This isn't something that I'd personally wear, I just couldn't resist how pretty it looked in this post...happy weekend!

  1. I've felt silly eyeing some fall items, but you're right....the leaves will change and the temps will drop before we know it!
