Vested Interest

Now that spring clothes are starting to hit stores (37 days until spring is officially here!) I like to re-assess my transitional clothing options. If you live here in the Northeast, then you already know that the real springlike weather doesn't actually start until about late April (if we're lucky) so it's always best to have some layering tricks up (or on) your sleeve.

Three years ago, I wrote this piece about layering fur vests over jackets. I recently just went back and revisited this idea and the style and practicality still hold true today. (Of course, vests look just as cute under a jacket as well). If you own a vest or two, (fur, leather, sweater, flannel etc.), then you  already know the power this piece holds to transform a look from Penny Lane (fur) to Preppy Jane (quilted).

It's amazing how fast a basic outfit can be elevated to a pulled together look by just adding a vest. Big fan of the vest-especially for transitional dressing.
