Back in October, when I first started "The Zhush",
I didn't know what to expect...
but, never in my wildest dreams
did I think I that blogging would lead to meeting someone
from my own small town, that I now call friend!

*note to self:
don't wear horizontal stripes or flats
when standing between these two beauties,
+ for the record, I am 5'6" tall!
Without further adieu, here are Carolyn's Summer Style Secrets:
~*~
1. Clarins Eau Ensoleillante Moisturizer
Smells like summer, feels light and soft going on
and moisturizes all day long.
Find some here.
2. Burt's Bees Watermelon Lip Balm
Just a hint of color and tastes really yummy!
You can find this here.
3. Boden Swimsuits
Fits girls like me, with smaller chests
and wider bottoms to a "T"!
{editor's note: re: wider bottom, Carolyn...you're crazy!}
4. Andrea Valentini Statement Necklaces
Take your pick here, any of these will add the
"wow" factor to a summer dress.
5. Trina Turk Towels
Really absorbent and so colorful.
Since everyone in our area buys their towels at Target,
mine tend to really stand out at the Pound Ridge pool!
Find these colorful towels here.

Thanks so much Carolyn!
I knew your style secrets would be great,
and these did not disappoint!

ReplyDeleteBlogging does make the world so much smaller, doesn't it? Nice to meet Carolyn, and I just love the necklace. What a perfect summertime accessory.
ReplyDeleteI love the Clarins lotion. It has a hint of sunflowers in it. It is a gorgeous lotion and you don't need to wear perfume in the summer. Great tips girls.
ReplyDeleteBloggers are the most generous women on the planet! I'm glad you found a new friend so close to you. Thanks for the introduction, Sue!
ReplyDeleteburts bee's watermelon lip balm?? i had no idea this existed - i need it!

ReplyDeleteI'm pretty new to blogging and I love the world that has unfolded before me in such a short time! I found you through The Shiny Pebble Party and your blog is great :) I haven't seen that lip balm before, looks like something else just got added to my "must haves" list!
ReplyDeleteI need a new bather! Think I'll click right on over to Boden...I had forgotten about them for trunks, thanks doll. BTW - Blondes are beautiful, fun and fresh, but brunettes are classy, sophisticated and less maintenance no matter how tall they are...
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of this series. These tips are great.
ReplyDeleteThe watermelon lip balm is a must-have!
ReplyDeleteHave a sunny Wednesday. xxx

What a fun post! I have to say I always enjoy getting the Boden catalouge...have never ordered anything, but always dogear a few pages. Hoorah for summer!
ReplyDeletei love the necklace
ReplyDeleteThis is fab! I am loving these posts, Sue! She has great tips! Sue, you are so gorgeous! Did you say that you are the same age as my husband? Maybe I imagined it, you are just stunning! Clearly you've been wearing your sunscreen! XO!
ReplyDeleteLovely selection. I like the necklace and the Trina Turk towels
ReplyDeleteLooong day, and just now picked up your comment on P&H. WOW, now THAT is karma : ) Loved this post as well as the one where you first met these lovely ladies....in your own backyard! And the fact that Richard Gere is also from P.R. really adds to the karmic effect! I did a MapQuest on Pound Ridge and found that it's just an hour away from where my dad grew up, in Suffern, NY. My mom grew up on L.I. I was born in Syracuse but none of us live in NY any longer. Thanks for your wonderful comments and for showing me how our posts also tied together.
ReplyDeleteVery cool! xx Suzanne PS: I love Bert's Bees lip balms.
You look beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteSummer is in the air! I'm excited. I must get myself one of those towels too!
Love this post! Blogging can lead to such wonderful things :)
ReplyDeleteYou all look so cute -- and I think that the stripes are absolutely DARLING on you! And Trina Turk anything is so fab for summer... It's always bright and cheery.

love those summertime picks and love that first black and white photo, vintage bathing suits are so beautiful, they need to make a comeback with the cut of those, lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love hearing stories about how blogging has led to great friendships and opportunities! It's great! I love Burt's Bees. I didn't know they had a watermelon lip balm. Must try!
ReplyDeleteCarolyn makes me feel like I need a class in class. Or two. Or is that something you're born with? Either way, she's got it. Love the list - Clarins is an all around favorite for me, too :)
ReplyDeletegreat post!! i really love the towel and you can never go wrong with burts bees!!
ReplyDeleteps. i left you an award on my blog!
The pic of you 3 is great! I'd look puny at my mere 5'4"!
ReplyDeletelove the towel and I definitely need that lip balm! mmm....
this is very interesting post nice information i love this post thanks alot
ReplyDeleteMy go to Summer fragrance (at Clarins) was sold out! Great list....
ReplyDeletepve
If someone asked me to pose between those two glamazons... I would give Flo-Jo a run for her money. Talk about a kick in the guts for one's self esteem!
ReplyDeleteLuckily you hold your own. xoxo
hey you would all love the trina turk makeup bag from clinique wow fabulous with $25. purchase.
ReplyDeleteGreat tips! I am going to get some Clarins - I used to use some of their products about 10 years ago, and I had forgotten about the divine smell!
ReplyDeleteBoden - I love how their stuff fits. I am a 'pear' (and have become a bit more pear-like over the past 5 years, since child #3), and Boden is great for my body type - small on top, but a bit curvier on bottom. I have never bought one of their bathing suits - I have tons of their shirts and dresses and skirts - OK, this post is costing me money, but it is great to know these things!
first of all. Sue, you are incredibly gorgeous, stripes or not! seriously?! so photogenic!
ReplyDeletesecondly, i am totally digging that beach towel. Had no idea that Trina Turk (sp?) made gorgeous towels like this. I don't want to picture myself in a bathings suit right now, cute towel or not. belch....
fun summer pics!!
It is going to get expensive to follow all your lovely Style secret posts, Sue! Maybe I will only settle for the moisturizer this time (but I like Carolyn's taste - and could easily buy the entire list!)
ReplyDeleteHugs to you both!
