Summer Style Secrets: Diane James Home

This week,  I'm pleased to introduce Carolyn James McDonough.

Along with running Diane James Home,
with her mother and her twin sister, Cynthia,
Carolyn writes "The Buzz" blog, for the
Diane James Home website.

Back in October, when I first started "The Zhush",
I didn't know what to expect...
but, never in my wildest dreams
did I think I that blogging would lead to meeting someone
from my own small town, that I now call friend!

To read more about how I met Carolyn, click here.

{Carolyn, me, Cynthia}
*note to self:
don't wear horizontal stripes or flats
when standing between these two beauties,
+ for the record, I am 5'6" tall!

Without further adieu, here are Carolyn's Summer Style Secrets:

~*~

1. Clarins Eau Ensoleillante Moisturizer
Smells like summer, feels light and soft going on
and moisturizes all day long.
Find some here.

2.  Burt's Bees Watermelon Lip Balm
Just a hint of color and tastes really yummy!
You can find this here.

3.  Boden Swimsuits
Fits girls like me, with smaller chests
and wider bottoms to a "T"!
{editor's note:  re: wider bottom, Carolyn...you're crazy!}

4.  Andrea Valentini Statement Necklaces
Take your pick here, any of these will add the
"wow" factor to a summer dress.

5.  Trina Turk Towels
Really absorbent and so colorful.
Since everyone in our area buys their towels at Target,
mine tend to really stand out at the Pound Ridge pool!
Find these colorful towels here.
~*~
Thanks so much Carolyn!
I knew your style secrets would be great,
and these did not disappoint!

  50. Looong day, and just now picked up your comment on P&H. WOW, now THAT is karma : ) Loved this post as well as the one where you first met these lovely ladies....in your own backyard! And the fact that Richard Gere is also from P.R. really adds to the karmic effect! I did a MapQuest on Pound Ridge and found that it's just an hour away from where my dad grew up, in Suffern, NY. My mom grew up on L.I. I was born in Syracuse but none of us live in NY any longer. Thanks for your wonderful comments and for showing me how our posts also tied together.
Very cool! xx Suzanne PS: I love Bert's Bees lip balms.

  56. Carolyn makes me feel like I need a class in class. Or two. Or is that something you're born with? Either way, she's got it. Love the list - Clarins is an all around favorite for me, too :)

  61. If someone asked me to pose between those two glamazons... I would give Flo-Jo a run for her money. Talk about a kick in the guts for one's self esteem!

Luckily you hold your own. xoxo

  62. hey you would all love the trina turk makeup bag from clinique wow fabulous with $25. purchase.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Great tips! I am going to get some Clarins - I used to use some of their products about 10 years ago, and I had forgotten about the divine smell!

Boden - I love how their stuff fits. I am a 'pear' (and have become a bit more pear-like over the past 5 years, since child #3), and Boden is great for my body type - small on top, but a bit curvier on bottom. I have never bought one of their bathing suits - I have tons of their shirts and dresses and skirts - OK, this post is costing me money, but it is great to know these things!

    ReplyDelete
  64. first of all. Sue, you are incredibly gorgeous, stripes or not! seriously?! so photogenic!
secondly, i am totally digging that beach towel. Had no idea that Trina Turk (sp?) made gorgeous towels like this. I don't want to picture myself in a bathings suit right now, cute towel or not. belch....
    fun summer pics!!

    ReplyDelete
  65. It is going to get expensive to follow all your lovely Style secret posts, Sue! Maybe I will only settle for the moisturizer this time (but I like Carolyn's taste - and could easily buy the entire list!)

    Hugs to you both!
